(Crossposted because I realized I need more happy posts in my DW account, so it's not always melancholy internal monologues. SO BORING.)

~IT'S DONE~

Actually, I finished it sometime mid-August, but I was too lazy to camwhore. So now I've finally gotten around to taking pictures (which only took about 10 minutes) of the most recent quilt I finished. SOB sometimes I feel like such an old-auntie, because who except old aunties makes quilts by hand... and then I curl up in it and feel all proud and go "8DDDDb" inside.

SIZE: Approximately twin bed.
COST: ... I don't even know. Fabric didn't cost much, but then I bought an actual quilting hoop and aieeee.
TIME: June 2008 - August 2009, so ~14 months (although I did not sew all 14 months straight).

Ugh, the lighting was not really great, but you know I TRIED!!

Baaaaw, the back fabric got all wrinkled when I lay it all out on the floor, and by the time I'd realized that it was wrinkled I was too cranky and sore to rip out the basting stitches and smooth everything out again. In the end, though, I don't really care!

A close-up of the corner, with the top ... quilting stitching and the binding. Binding is a lot easier than I thought it would be, and damn does it look professional. And although it took me about half a week just to do the quilting stitches, I am really pleased with how it turned out. It was worth it!

Close up of the back vs. the front. See how the back fabric evokes the front fabric because it uses the same colors? But see how it is not exactly the same, thus avoiding boring repetition? I am such an artist.

SIZE COMPARISON! It fits a twin bed (I think that's what I have). Gosh my room is pretty crowded. IGNORE THAT AAHHH so embarrassing.

I've got a pattern for a fish quilt to work on next, but right now I'm making little things to give me a rest of gigantic projects.
